Chapter Thirty Eight: To Destroy and Create

Hayden and Roselyn stood before Nicholas, Amros, and Anna. Nicholas sat behind a giant desk while Amros and Anna stood next to him.
Amros
So Cameron has taken Arkain?
Hayden
Yes. He means no harm though. He is now our ally.
Amros
This is surprising.
Roselyn
Tell me about it.
Amros put his hand on his chin.
Amros
Very well, Arkain will remain with him until further notice.
Nicholas
He will be okay, right?
Hayden
Yes, Cameron has made his intentions clear.
Anna walked around the desk.
Anna
So you’re telling me our trump card is gone?
Hayden
For the moment, yes.
Anna rubbed her forehead.
Anna
As long as he will remain safe, we have nothing to worry about.
She turned to Nicholas
Anna
While you’ve been gone we’ve been running over different plans.
Nicholas
Plans?
Anna
Yes, to retake our country.
Nicholas didn’t like what he was hearing.
Anna
We think it is best to do it now. The longer we wait, the stronger they will grow.
Amros
Yes, this is true. The only thing is you humans will never defeat my brother and his empire.
Anna
That is why we have you.
Anna smiled.
Anna
Your mission is to destroy the leaders of the empire. Our mission is to keep their forces at bay. If we can accomplish that, we can win.
Amros
I assure you it won’t be that easy.
Anna
We know, but we must do something. Hiding here will not change anything. It will only lead to us running out of resources and dying.
Hayden
I concur.
Roselyn
The problem is I doubt you have the man power to hold off their army. They have more Gears than you posses.
Anna
While that is true, we have the better ones. You aren’t aware of this but the models they are using are 2nd class while ours are first. They hold the quantity, we posses the quality.
Nicholas
She’s right.
The door opened. A man walked in wearing a black suit. He has blue eyes and short blond hair.
Anna
General Kasper, you arrived just in time. Everyone, I would like you to meet General Grey Kasper.
Roselyn ran forward and threw her arms around him. They kissed quickly and held each other.
Roselyn
Grey, I’ve missed you.
Grey
As I’ve missed you.
Anna
Excuse me, but how do you know each other?
Roselyn
He is one of us. He is my husband.
Anna
Is this true Grey?
Grey
Yes, it is. I am a former member of what was the New Order. I was placed as your body guard for protection, my lady.
Anna
Well, that is surprising. Anyone else have any surprises?
No one said anything.

Emmylou and Ian ran up to there mother Luciana and hugged her tightly.
Luciana
My babies, you’re okay.
Emmylou
Of course, mom.
She kissed them both.
Luciana
I love you both.
They looked up at her face in tears.
Ian
What’s wrong, mommy?
Luciana
I want to tell you about your daddy.


Anna
General Kasper is the head of our military now. General Gunner was captured when President Romberg was attacked. We’ve lost a great man, but General Kasper will certainly be able to manage.
Grey
Thank you, my lady.
He walked to Nicholas and shook his hand.
Grey
It is most pleasing to finally meet you, sir. A human such as yourself is worthy of my praise.
Nicholas
Thank you for your kind words, General Kasper.
He then shook Amros’ hand.
Grey
The brother of Amya, I’ve heard so much about you.
Amros
It is a pleasure to meet you.
Grey
I am sorry about your sister’s conversion. It has been a blow to my honor.
Amros
No worries, friend. She will be dealt with.
Roselyn
I will kill lady Amya.
Amros
Very well.
Grey turned to everyone.
Grey
As I am sure Anna has told you, the best time to attack is now.
The alarms went off. Anna hit the intercom button on the desk.
Anna
What is it?
Intercom voice
We have a disturbance, two unidentified figures moving our way very quickly. They’ve relayed a message saying they’re members of the White Coats.
Amros
Their names?
Anna
What are their names?
Intercom voice
Supriya and Kegan.
Amros
They’re with us.

Fallen stood in the light in front of the dark room. 5 Figures stood in the darkness.
Fallen
Well, you have your orders. Now go.
The figures disappeared.
Fallen
Now they will think I’ve betrayed them. I guess my time has come.
Fallen laid down on his side in the middle of the room.
Fallen
It’s a little early to be dying, but oh well.
He stopped breathing.

Supriya and Kegan walked into the room. Anna, Nicholas, Grey, and Roselyn introduced themselves.
Amros
Why are you here?
Supriya looked confused.
Kegan
Fallen said you ordered it!
Amros
I did no such thing.
Supriya
Impossible. Are you saying lord Fallen has betrayed us?
Hayden
He said he was going to stay back and watch over Cameron when we left to retrieve Arkain. Now he has betrayed us?
Amros
It would seem so. I did not see this coming.
Supriya
He said he’d protect the White Cell until this was all over.
Kegan
Apparently we need more soldiers on the battlefield.
Anna
This is true! We need all the help we can get.
Kegan
Well, lets get this show on the road!
Grey
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
The door burst open.
Anna
You’d think we’re having a party.
Anna told Nicholas quietly.
Suri
Where is Arkain?
Amros
He isn’t present at the moment.
Suri
Not here? Where is he?
Hayden
He is with Cameron.
Suri
Cameron? He’s tried to kill us! What is he doing with the Empire still?
She turned to Hayden.
Suri
Father, you told me you’d save him!
Hayden
I’m sorry.
Suri
You lied, you lied.
She left the room. Emmylou saw Suri storming out and caught up with her.
Emmylou
Suri, are you okay?
Suri
I don’t want to talk about it.
Emmylou
I know how you feel, when-
Suri
You know, the last time I told someone I knew how they felt, I didn’t know at all. I didn’t know what it was like to know my parents most of my life and then lose them.
She leaned against the wall.
Suri
The only person I’ve ever felt like this for is gone.
Emmylou
Well, if it means anything to you I just found out my father was captured during the take over.
Suri was shocked.
Suri
I’m sorry.
Emmylou
Don’t be. The good news for both of us is they’re not dead. So why don’t we go find them?
Suri
Are you serious?
Emmylou
Yes. I’m tired of just waiting here. I don’t want to rely on the adults to get things done. I want to find my dad and I want to find your boyfriend.
Suri blushed.
Suri
Are you sure you want to do this?
Emmylou
More than I’ll ever be.
Suri
How will we even get out of here?
Emmylou smiled.
Emmylou
I told you I knew this place like the back of my hand, remember?
Suri smiled.
Suri
What about your brother?
Emmylou
My mom will take care of him. I’ll go get the things we need and meet you back at the room.
Emmylou walked away.
Suri
Are we really going to do this?
Emmylou
Sure, why not? We’re not little kids anymore.
Suri
We might get ourselves killed.
Emmylou
And we might not. The only thing that is certain is that if we stay here, nothing will change. Aren’t you tired of feeling helpless? Aren’t you tired of having to rely on others?
Suri
Yes.
Emmylou
So come with me. Together we’ll do this. To be honest, I need you more than you need me. You came here with those super humans, so you must be one of them. If we’re going to do this, we have to work together. Do you trust me?
Suri
I do.
Suri turned around and began to walk.
Suri
I’ll go get Conor. Be ready to go in ten minutes.
Emmylou smiled.
Emmylou

Velis stood over Arkain.
Velis
It’s been awhile, kid.
Arkain
Get away from me, bitch.
Velis
Hey calm down, I’m not your enemy.
Arkain
Yes you are. You killed my mom and step dad!
Velis
Actually, no I did not.
Arkain just looked up at her.
Velis
You don’t believe me, do you?
Arkain
Why should I?
Velis
I do realize I only have my word and that means very little to you, but you’re going to have to believe me.
Malic
Come on Arkain, I can vouch for her.
Arkain
As if I care.
Malic
What a dick.
Velis
Shut up Malic.
Arkain tried to sit up.
Velis
You’re too weak at the moment. Stay put, you have nothing to worry about.
Arkain
So if you didn’t kill my parents, who did?
Cameron
Orthak killed your step father.
They all looked to see Cameron walking up to them.
Cameron
As for your mother, that I also know.
Cameron sat down next to Arkain.
Cameron
At the moment you’re very weak. No worries, you’ll be back to normal by morning.
The sun was setting.
Cameron
I hope we can speak without you having to waste your energy on thrashing around.
Velis and Malic giggled.
Cameron
Arkain, we need your help.
Arkain
What makes you think I’d help the Empire?
Cameron laughed.
Cameron
It’s simple really, we aren’t apart of the Empire. We are the New Order.
Arkain
So you don’t work for Ximendos?
Cameron
Consider us free agents.
Arkain
You’re still evil though.
Cameron
I suppose at one point we were. Velis might still be.
He looked over to Velis and she smiled.
Cameron
I on the other hand have a new objective. One I think you’d like to hear.
Arkain
What makes you think I want to?
Cameron
What choice do you have?
Arkain looked the other way.
Cameron
I thought so.

Ximendos sat down by the fire with Amya and Akasha.
Amya
Brother, what are you thinking about?
Ximendos
I’m afraid the only thing I am thinking about is how to stop thinking.
Akasha
Sleep helps.
Ximendos
Not when all you want to do is put together visuals of the past.
Amya
You sound troubled, brother.
Ximendos
I am dear sister. I don’t know how things will go from here. I speak to you both because you are the only two I can trust.
Akasha
We are most pleased.
Ximendos
Akasha, my beautiful wife and Amya my sister, I am afraid. I am afraid of losing what we’ve worked for.
Akasha
You won’t. I will make sure of that with my life.
Amya

Dear sister, what made you change your mind?
Akasha smiled, she wanted to know the answer.

Why did you truly return to my side? You’ve stood by the humans for so long and at their most desperate time of need you abandoned them. Why, if I may ask?
Amya
You may brother. To be honest, it was for two reasons. Reason one; I see a lot in your son Ilias. I feel he will be the driving force to helping you change the world.
Ximendos
He is one to be proud of.
Akasha
Surely.
Ximendos
And reason two?
Amya
Well, when I saw the world would be thrown into battle and the greatest war it has ever seen would commence, I had to decide. My choice was to choose the side I felt would win. That is my truth.
Akasha
A wise choice, Amya.
Amya
Yes, I think it was. We are on the pathway to utter victory, are we not? I do hope so. I must confess I am a bit ignorant as to what operation cleansing is.
Ximendos
My apologies, sister. The only ones who do are Akasha, Ilias, Iris, and myself.
He stood up by the fire.
Ximendos
Operation Cleansing is going to be the eradication of all that we see unfit for our world.
Amya
Eradication?
Ximendos
Yes, that is what I said. Ilias and Iris have stored up energy enough to cover this entire planet. Ilias will choose what must be destroyed and it will destroy just that. For example, anything related to religion or government will be destroyed.
Akasha
It is genius!
Ximendos
It is truth! We shall cleanse the world of all that may cause division in our world. We will destroy the old and disgusting human world and create a new one. One that we will rule.
Amya
I must say I am impressed. I never dreamed of such a plan.
Ximendos
One must go as far as they possibly could in order to destroy and create.
He sat back down.
Ximendos
I am God. I will pass judgment and I will create a new life.
