You are at a checkmate here, Hayden. You can kill Velis, but I will have killed both the boy and girl before you accomplished that.
Hayden
I don’t think you can do that.

Suri
He’s not bluffing father.
Hayden stared at Cameron for a minute in silence.
Hayden
You let them go, and we shall fight.
Cameron
Time is no longer on your side.
They all turned to where Velis was standing to see she was gone.
Cameron
Fear, only what is necessary to fear.
The entire building blew up.
Gemma
You think I’m a fool, sir?
Amros stood in the white room with Gemma while she sat on the floor and he stood.
Amros

Amros turned the other way.
Amros

Gemma
There is always another choice. You just felt this one was simple.
Amros

Reasons understood. Understanding isn’t the problem. Your intelligence far exceeds my own sir, why do you act like you do not feel what I feel?
Amros
There are complications, Gemma. If Arkain knew, he would not want to be here. You know this.

Haha she's all ready to fight one minute-i loved her line by the way " even the ants do not run from the scorpion"-and the next she just says "fuck this" and leaves. I'm kind hoping she escaped because honestly I really like her character, despite the fact that she shows no sign of humanity. She's apathetic and feisty and only looking out for herself. Not to mention, she's a old-blooded killer. But for some reason i am drawn to her...maybe because she is my exact opposite.

I like how Velis is thinking shes a badass then she disappears. I think the fight scene is going to get good between those too. I can't wait to see what happens when Arkain actually finds out that Gemma killed his mother if he does.

Have you created profiles of each character with pictures of who should play them? You should!

I think there is more to the story of the death of Arkain's mother than we have discovered so far. I am also wondering if the ending is alluding that she will soon kill again. and who?

ReplyDeleteGreat ominous voice at the end there. Regime, 2nd Rank, sounds a little dungeons and dragons to me. Nice how the "good" guys have had to lie to keep Arkain around. I love moral ambiguity in conflict and the subjectivity of good and evil. Can't wait to see where it goes.

ReplyDeleteThe interaction between Cameron and Velis towards Hayden is a bit stan off-ish. By that I mean that Cameron is relatively calm even though he states that Hayden is one of three to fear if contact was made, but Velis' adrenaline is flowing like the Nile river when it floods. There seems to no sense of thought when she has to make a choice, I foresee her getting into some sort of trouble that she will not be able to make it out of easily.
ReplyDeleteGemma definitely feels horrible about what she did and wants to tell Arkain but Amros is not allowing for this to happen, what if Arkain stops all this fighting and realizes that his motives have all been born from a lie? Sure, for the greater good, but a lie nonetheless.
