Chapter Fourteen: Good Men Die Like the Rest

Velis and Cameron walked in the Roger’s Pub. Roger saw Velis and began nervously cleaning.
Velis
Alright, I need everyone out. 
The ten guys inside all looked around to her. 
Velis
You can leave with your lives, or stay here with your dead body. 
Random guy
We suppose to be scared of you? 
Velis dropped her coat and was wearing an all black suit. 
Velis
Yes.
Cameron walked forward. 
Cameron
Please gentlemen, there is a simple solution. We have yet to fight anyone since last night and we do not wish to kill humans at the moment. 
Random guy
Humans? What are you, aliens? 
Every man in the room laughed.Velis moved forward quickly without anyone even noticing, her foot hit the bottom of the man's hand and his cup flew up. Her foot then swept him off his feet and his head fell where the cup would land. As the cup fell down, Velis grabbed the cup in midair and smashed it into the man’s face. 
Cameron
If aliens could do that. 
The other men quickly ran out of the bar. The man sat on the floor holding his face while weeping. 
Velis
You should have just listened. The last guy didn't either.
She snapped his neck.
Velis
Dispose of him. 
Cameron lifted his finger and the man’s body was set on fire. 
Cameron
This is disgusting. You really should think before you act Velis. If I wasn’t here who would dispose of the body?
The body and fire were gone.
Velis
Roger would.
She looked over to the bar tender roger.
Velis
He did last time. 
Cameron
How handy.
Roger set up two tables in the middle of the bar for them. 
Roger
Anything you need Velis, just call. I'm going to go clean the back.
Velis and Cameron sat down next to each other. 
Cameron
Who will be attending this?
Velis
Malic, Orthak, and Akasha.
Cameron
Why not Ximendos?
Velis
He has other things to attend to apparently. 
Cameron
Figures. 
The door opened and Malic walked in.
Malic
Hello, friends.
Velis
Sit down.
Malic
Wow, a little happy today Velis?
Velis
I’d say so. We killed the boy last night. 
Malic sat down.
Malic
I’d sure as hell be happy. Master is going to love you. 
Velis
He sure as hell better. I’m thinking about ranking up. 
Malic
You quite deserve it. I don’t think there is a scarier woman in town. 
Velis
Except her.
She pointed behind him.

Akasha
Well said.
She had thick long black hair and blue eyes. All she wore was a giant black coat. 
Velis
How are you, Akasha? 
Akasha
The boy is dead, correct?
Velis
Thanks for answering my question. Yes he is. 
Cameron
Where is Orthak?
Akasha
He won’t be attending. I’ve sent him on a mission.
Malic
Good, I hate when I’m around him, gives me the chills. 
Velis
He’s on your team.
Malic
I know. I didn’t say I’m afraid of him, I just said he gives me the chills. 
Cameron
He is fear in shapes, after all. 
Akasha
Speaking of missions. I have a new one for you three. 
Malic
Yes! I was waiting. 
Akasha
Ximendos and I have decided we must get rid of Merdos and Masato. Their powers can prove to be of an annoyance should we continue to allow them to interfere with our plans. 
Cameron
And this task belongs to? 
Malic
Can I? I would love to finish the job. 
Akasha
Yes, you can. Careful young Malic, you know fully well a touch by either of those two can prove fatal. The setting will be up to your desire young one, but the time will be tomorrow. Those two are always first on the scene, so it should not be a problem. Even with the boy and those two out of the way the threat of The White Coats is still strong. As long as Amros and Hayden are present, they will remain a force we must remain weary of. 
Velis
I’ll kill Hayden. 
Akasha
We do not need suicide missions, Velis. 
Velis crossed her arms and sat back.
Velis
Someone has to do it. 
Akasha
Someone will, soon. Velis, you will be a part of the president assassination. 
Malic
Sounds interesting.
Akasha
It is. Amya of the human ranks is under the impression that she has a week to prepare for us to attack. Should we give her that week, things may prove to be tricky. For that reason, tomorrow will be the day.
Malic
You know, I do like this president.
Cameron
He is a good man.
Velis
And good men must die like the rest. 
Akasha
Do not think this will be easy. There will be many guards, there will be army, there will be Amya's people. You are bullet proof Malic, but young Velis here is not. 
Velis
No one will hit me, believe it. 
Akasha
I do, your speed matches the speed of my power. 
Velis smiled. 
Akasha
Cameron, you aren’t as insightful and enlightening today like on other days, anything wrong? 
Cameron
Nothing, just a lot on my mind. 
Akasha
Clear it, it will only slow you down. 
Akasha quickly got up and lifted her hand. A thin blue line of lighting pulsed through the room and hit something by the hallway to the restrooms. There was a thud and a clatter. Velis stood up. 
Velis
That was Roger!
Akasha sat down. 
Akasha
Sit down.
Velis
Do you know how hard it is to find good human help these days? 
Akasha
They're all dogs, and like dogs, they all lack the intelligence to further our organization and our agenda. 
Velis sat down angry. 
Akasha
Well then. I think this meeting is complete. You have your missions. Also, congratulations on killing the boy, Ximendos will be most pleased. 
Velis
Thank you.
Cameron did not respond to the congratulation. Akasha left. 
Velis
Let's go, now that Roger is dead this place lacks interest. Burn it to the ground. 
Cameron
As you wish.

Gemma sat in the middle of her white cell.
Gemma
I'm wide awake, and it's morning. 
It’s time.
Gemma

They killed him, the dark ones.Gemma
